On January 24, 2016, Paso Robles Food Co-op (PRFC) hosted their first ‘Local Bites’ event with the ‘Spice of Life’ store located at 1306 13th in Paso Robles. Lori DiCiaccio-Foster, the owner, provided her store space and greeted guest with salad and hot tea, sampling her zesty products. Over 30 guests attended the event representing existing members and those curious about joining. With over 60 paid members and pledges, PRFC is well on its way to becoming a brick and mortar store and expects to raise the full 500 members necessary to startup within the next two years.
Join the Paso Food Co-op for the next event in their Local Bites series, "A Taste of Art" at Studios on the Park at 1130 Pine St, 4-5pm, Sunday, February 26th to indulge your vision and palate with food-related art and tasty samples from local food producers. During the event, you'll learn from local producers (including the California Bee Company, the Paleolicious Bread Company, and a local farmer) while munching on their fare. You'll also hear from the Paso Food Co-op about their community-owned startup grocery store on a mission to support local producers and provide healthy, low-cost food choices in the North County. They need your help to open this member-owned store and grow community around good food! RSVP and share the event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/259725144463279/
