A wise woman once told us that "Many hands make light work" ... she was right. We need member involvement! Successful OPEN Co-ops use volunteers in a cooperative way to get the doors open. For the past few years we have been a very small group of members who are actively involved. This small group of people has gotten everything you see done for the Co-op. We have recently had some of our core volunteers and board members relocate to take on new adventures. We wish them well, truly we do! They will be missed by so many of us. But to make the PRFC a reality, we need more hands. We have compiled a list of smaller tasks so that we can recruit more people to distribute the work. There is power in numbers! Please consider getting involved. What are your special skills, talents, and expertise? If you don't see an area you feel you can contribute in, please let us know (happy to add a new title or job share). This is not an exhaustive list, and we would love to hear how you want to help! Here is quick list of possible positions and a brief description. For all of these positions you would be trained and we would be available to help at every step of the way. Volunteering with the Co-op is a great way to network, meet people and contribute to a healthier community. Many of our volunteers have received paid work through the network they have built through the Co-op. All volunteers must be Member/Owners.
SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM MEMBERS - keep the Co-op posts and events up-to-date on Facebook and Instagram, manage posts and promotions, coordinate with other member/owners, and the Board.
EVENT COORDINATOR - We host our Local Bites events, we need someone to coordinate all the volunteers to make sure everything gets done. This position would also be the liaison between the PRFC and the event host.
BOOKKEEPER - We don't have any extensive bookkeeping, but we just need someone to check in monthly and make sure everything is in order.
NEWSLETTER TEAM- We send out up to two emails to our mailing list per month. We use MailChimp and we would love to have someone help out to get the newsletter put together and sent out. We would help with all of the content.
NEW MEMBER PROCESSING - We have a protocol to follow and it just needs to be executed.
WEBSITE COORDINATOR - We use Weebly to host our website. It's a very easy to use drag and drop interface, even if you have little to no website experience. Our website is built, we just need periodic updates and posting of our events and news to it.
GOODIE BAGS - We love to have goodies for our new members who join. The Goodie Bag person would be in charge of coming up with new ideas for goods, keeping the inventory and putting them together.
